Improve your wellness in the office with these tips

Are you on a journey to being the best version of you? In your career, personal goals, relationships and more?

Then you should consider your wellness, not as a luxury but a necessity you should pursue. That is why we are breaking some tips to busy bees out there, hustling for a better life. Continue reading to uncover tips you can apply to improve your wellness at the office!

Get Moving

The human body is made for moving. Being stationed in one position for long periods of time is not good. Get up from your desk and walk around the office for a few minutes, hola at a colleague on the other end of the office and take time to make new friends.

Alternatively, you can take a brisk walk around the office for 30 minutes every weekday. It is a sure way to reduce the risk of heart diseases, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers. According to studies, a physically active worker takes 27 percent fewer sick days. Walking also improves mental health, especially when the stress levels hit the roof! Regular walking also can reduce the risks of depression and dementia by 20-30 percent.

A Good Stretch

Awaken your muscles and tendons with a good stretch. Stretching can be doing 20 squats every time you go to the restroom. Stretch your legs by using the stairs every now and then.

Give yourself a simple physical challenge every half an hour.

Try loosening your hands by making air circles. Clench both fists, and stretch it out in front of you. Then make circles in the air, clockwise; then counterclockwise. Finish off by shaking out your hands.

You will have increased muscle control, flexibility, and range of motion with continual stretch intervals.

Good Lighting

Being surrounded by natural light and living things such as plants can alleviate stress, improve mental stamina, and enable better focus and productivity. According to global research findings in Human Spaces, natural elements are positively linked to creativity at work.

Whether it’s ensuring that there is a (well-behaved) dog, an aquarium, plants all-over the workplace or even stunning photos of nature’s finest scenic views; every one of these has the ability to lift our spirits and to promote relaxation. It can also get our creative juice going that can boost one’s productivity.

Take in Nutrients

Stock up on fruits and herbal beverages in the pantry. You can either request for the HR Department to provide these goodies to the employees, or you could just stock it up on your desk for yourself (and your close-knit colleagues).

Speaking of tea, ModeSugar is partnering up with Mosanco Tea to bring you The Wellness Box. Mosanco Tea is a functional tea that reduces the absorption of excess energy into the body (reducing fat production), utilising the stored energy in the body. Drinking Mosanco Tea after meals will keep you on track toward your wellness journey.

Stay tuned for the exciting reveal of the goodies inside the Wellness Box.
