The Emmy Awards is the most prestigious award in the television industry. Recognising the best in the industry including various categories from primetime, daytime, news and documentary, regional, international, etc. The 71st awards night featured the best and brightest on television.
But one of the most awaited parts of every awards night is the nominees and what they are wearing. Here are FIVE notable stars that caught our attention on the red carpet:
We can’t stop staring and everyone can’t stop talking about Zendaya. Looking like a goddess in her newly-dyed locks wearing a custom Vera Wang in asymmetric green silk charmeuse gown styled by Law Roach, we are enraptured to say the least. The corseting detail and the lining that matches her skin-tone shows a brilliant shade selection. Her seductive slit also shows off her custom-dyed satin pumps by Brian Atwood that is her dress in the exact shade of green!

Wait a minute, we see the ultra-plunging neckline making it’s stunning comeback. 20 years ago, JLo rocked it and she rocked it again this year at the New York Fashion Week. But here we have Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke, in a similar plunging, thin bodice in navy by Valentino, styled by Petra Flannery. Her looks were paired with cabochon opal-drop earrings and a matching ring also set with diamonds and sapphires by David Webb paired with Jimmy Choo platform sandals.

Stunning the red carpet as a presenter is Naomi Watts in her strapless Dior by Maria Grazia Chiuri haute couture bustier gown with a full skirt. You can say that she upped the Watts on during the awards show. Sweetly draped in a delicate layered mesh that peeped at the neckline and NYFW trendy cinched waist, she highlighted it with a velvet belt. Donning the freshest hair of the season – a cropped platinum bob, it accentuates her bold red lip that complements her overall look. Her look was styled by Jeanann Williams.
Julia Garner bagged the Best Supporting Drama Actress for Ozark, but she didn’t leave the awards with just that. This Emmy Award winner who wore a vibrant purple, single-sleeved Cong Tri gown, styled by Elizabeth Saltzman also bagged our hearts! She paired the heavily rouched dress paired with Lisa Eisner jewelry and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals. Definitely an award-winning look for this winner!

From being Ms. Potts from the blockbuster Avengers franchise, Gwyneth Paltrow wore a sustainably-made and truly unique style in a vintage 1963 Valentino dress styled by Elizabeth Saltzman. She certainly gave the dress a phoenix-rising moment with floor-length sleeves made from strips of fabric, accessorized with Giuseppe Zanotti heels and Harry Winston jewels.

Other than these five, we have a resounding trend on the red carpet, and it is the combination of two strong colours, red and pink! Stars such as Mandy Moore and Susan Watson we spotted showing off similar colour themes that rocked the red carpet. Have we seen such a coincidence on the red carpet? Not in such a manner where the colour-blocking choice is similar.
Truly, there are only winners on this year’s 71st Emmy Awards Night. Congratulations to everyone who bagged an Emmy! We look forward to seeing next year’s winners.
